QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY

Our quality assurance policy provides a basis on which our operational guidelines and procedures are formulated to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards. The driving force for all operational procedures and guidelines is the quality assurance policy objective that all tasks, jobs and assignments undertaken by the company are correctly and efficiently executed at the first instance and, all steps and actions taken in job execution and the results of such steps and actions are properly and promptly reported and documented

   

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY (CASHES) POLICY

The prime focus of SSCL’s community affairs, Safety, Health Environment Security (CASHES) Policy is the emphasis on management’s responsibility for optimum community relationship, Health of all Personnel/ Staff either in office or in the field, and of many members of the public that may be directly or indirectly affected and environmental protection Below are all the necessary procedures and activities aimed at achieving a satisfactory management of (CASHES) Issues. To maintain safe and healthy working condition is our priority and we shall see to it that we review and revise this policy as necessary at regular interval so as to provide adequate control of (CASHES) risk arising from our work activities

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS:

  • First and foremost we shall familiarize our self with our host community
  • As part of our co-operate social responsibility we shall let the community know the nature of our activities and the benefit they may derive from our operations there
  • Enhance commitment to safety standard
  • To provide updated (CASHES) instruction and training handbooks to employees .
  • To ensure that there is a zero tolerance to unsafe act and/or working in an unsafe environment.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate (CASHES) management system.

SAFETY:

  • Enhance commitment to safety standards
  • Ensure no loss time injuries (LTI)
  • Ensure that our employees are trained before they are assigned a particular task
  • Daily performance report
  • Appropriate PPE shall be worn before a vessel is boarded especially safety boot and life jacket.
  • Terminal supervisors shall as a matter of importance ensure that no staff under them stands or works under a suspended load .
  • No alcohol or drug while working or driving .
  • No use of GSM phones on board, or in tank farms and terminals - think safety.

HEALTH:

  • All workers shall be certified medically fit before employment and a regular medical check conducted
  • We are committed to ensuring no injury to staff and preserving the health of our employees through routine safety briefing and orientation
  • Ensure that our employees are trained before they are assigned a particular task
  • A record of illness inventory causing absence to work (medical record book must be used)
  • Terminal safety meeting
  • First aid is administered promptly to preserve life and prevent situation from worsening .
  • To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety .
  • Health hazard identification list must be used.
  • Regular orientation of our staff on current heath challenges like Ebola virus and Laser fever and to need to maintain good personal hygiene is emphasized.

SSCL makes use of HEALTHY LIVING SPECIALIST HOSPITALS LIMITED as own medical retainership therefore members of staff should oblige themselves of the facility.


ENVIROMENT

  • We adhere strictly to all statutory laws and procedures for the protection of the work place
  • We Ensure our employees are trained properly before they are deployed
  • We ensure regular inspection and maintenance
  • We maintain liaison regularly with environmental agencies of the government
  • ensure that people are not harmed and environment is not damage by our activities.
  • To ensure that there is zero tolerance to unsafe act and/or working in an unsafe environment .

SECURITY

  • Routine education of our work force on current security challenges and the need to be security conscious
  • No visitor shall be allowed admittance into the premises of the company after 8 am
  • Ensure adequate protection of personnel and property/asset by maintaining liaison with official bodies e.g. security operatives
  • No Identity card (ID) on, no entry into SSCL PREMISES
  • CCTV security system is adequately provided to enhance our security alertness.
  • SSCL’S(CASHES) POLICY, PROCEDURE AND PLAN IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH:

  • Mineral oil (safety ) regulations 1963

  • Road traffic regulation

  • Inland water regulation
